Follow the Prophet

Hey Everyone!

I can't believe another week has gone by! That's just crazy! It was a rainy one this week too! Haha I feel like we skipped over fall and jumped straight to winter! It's been raining like crazy, and it's COLD rain which means winter is upon us!! Where did the year go? I cant believe it's already October!!

Well, this week was a great one because we had General Conference!!! I love conference!!! It's so good and it's especially good as a missionary!  I love hearing from the Prophets and Apostles!  They are all so inspired and this session was especially wonderful as a missionary because they all talked about the doctrine of Christ and over the course of the weekend we heard talks basically on all the missionary discussions.  It was great!  It's so powerful to hear other's testimonies on the things that we teach.  It strengthens me so much to hear! We watched one of the sessions at a members house.  They have a foreign exchange student, Shuhan, who is living with them and we are trying to teach her and so we went over and watched conference with them.  Shuhan sat in with us so that was awesome! We watched two sessions at the church and then watched the last one with Ram and Jyothsna! they are the family from India that we have been teaching.  Ram has accepted a baptismal date and we are still trying to work with his wife and get the kids involved.  Ram said he really enjoyed conference!  He said that it's really important to know that we have a Prophet today. He was also excited when they talked about the Plan of Salvation because we had just taught him about it!  They are really progressing and I'm excited about it!  Denis also watched conference. We weren't able to watch it with him, but he tuned in and said that he really enjoyed it!  I am just so grateful to live in a time where its so easy to hear the words of the prophet.  So amazing!

So that was the excitement of the week!  Such powerful things were said and I learned so much about the gospel and the importance of saying more meaningful prayers and how repentance and change need to be happening daily.  Love the things you learn, but now is the time to apply them into your lives!  To do the things that we have been asked!

This week was also fun because yesterday was Sister Labrum's birthday! I decorated the apartment and we had a 6 minute 36 second birthday party.  Hahaha we had a mini pinata that we broke and we played pin the tail on the donkey. It was so funny and so fun! Birthdays are the best! we had a nice birthday lunch and just ate TONS of sweets!  It was a great day!

Well I love you all so much! This week is transfers and I don't know what will be happening!  Most likely I will be staying though.  I'll be entering my last full transfer!! That's just insane!!  I'm not ready for that!!

Love you!
Sister Lawson
